2024 Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA)
RYLA will be held on April 12-14 at Lake Williamson in Carlinville. This program is for high school sophomores and emphasizes leadership and citizenship. Students are sponsored by Rotary Clubs and participate free of charge. Our club has sponsored students to participate in this program. The sponsorship cost this year is $250 per student. 
 
All Club Fundraiser Event
The All-Club Chicken Dinner fundraiser for Polio Plus will be included in a Trivia Night on Saturday,  April 13 (6:00-10:00 p.m.) at Ace Sign Company. The event will include a 50-50 Raffle and a cash bar.  A gold level table sponsor purchases 10 tickets at the new sale price of $50 each. Let me know if you are interested in participating in this event and purchasing a ticket for the sale price of $50. We need more Rotarians to sign up for our group.
 
April 8 Club Meeting Featured Rod Buffington
Our own Rod Buffington (image below) spoke about his distinguished careers as an artist and a 50-year Rotarian. See story by John Webb below for more information about his achievements as a Rotarian and his "baseball art" quilt paintings. 
 
 
 
Our April 15 Social Night will be at Nesty's
Join us at Nesty's Burger Joint in Rochester, IL (312 Sattley St., Rochester, IL, 62563) for an informal social night. These evenings have proven to be a lot of fun and a great chance to learn more about your colleagues in Rotary.
 
Our April 22 Club Meeting will be at Maldener's Upstairs
Our featured speaker will be Dave Fuchs, Public Works Director for the City of Springfield.
