On Wednesday, September 29, our Club volunteered to help out Compass for Kids by preparing and serving a full family-style Taco Night for approximately 25 Club Compass kids and volunteers at Southside Christian Church.

The menu consisted of tacos, nachos, fresh fruit, a drink, and, of course, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies!

Club Compass is a free, community-based program that takes place after school that serves elementary students in Springfield Public Schools – District 186. Every week Club Compass participants get to:
• Develop social-emotional & leadership skills;
• Spend time with positive, caring adults;
• Participate in interactive life-skills & enrichment activities;
• Share a delicious meal alongside volunteers; and,
• Receive non-perishable food to take home for the weekend.
We’re grateful for the chance to spend time with these amazing kids and support the important work Compass for Kids is doing in our community. Sometimes, making a difference starts with something as simple as gathering around a table and sharing a meal.
