Members of our Club will be ringing the bells for the Salvation Army at Schnucks at Montvale Plaza (2801 Chatham Road) on December 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There are four two-hour shifts, and three Rotarians may sign up for a shift. Check this sign up link to see which shifts are still open. The image to left shows Norm and me enjoying ourselves in 2019. If you are participating this year, you will need to wear a mask. Please join us in raising money for the the Salvation Army.

We are also spreading a little cheer to seniors in our community. So many seniors are able to stay at home with assistance, but can feel isolated and alone, especially during Covid 19 restrictions and the holidays. In partnership with Home Instead, the Rotary Club of Springfield hopes to brighten the holidays for 20 elderly individuals with notes of cheer and an accompanying gift card, which are safer for distribution than wrapped gifts.

Please let me know at megginson.vicki@gmail.com if you will gift one or more individuals. I will then assign names in order of replies received and send you an email with your assign name(s) and wished for gift card. Typically, gift card values are between $25 or $30.

Gift cards, along with a holiday card/note, must be received by Home Instead no later than December 4th.  You can mail your holiday card and gift card to Tina Prather, Home Instead 2040 West Isles Avenue, Suite A, Springfield Il 62704. Please let her know the name of your senior and that you are with the Rotary Club of Springfield. You can also drop off your card to Vicki Megginson, 2308 Ironoak Circle, Springfield, who will deliver the cards to Home Instead.

Thank you so much for your generosity,
