As Rotarians we take our service responsibilities seriously, but we also believe in partaking in fellowship opportunities, supporting our community, and having some fun while doing so!

To this end, on Saturday, August 8, a group of our members headed to Robin Roberts Stadium to enjoy some exciting baseball between the San Francisco Firebells and the Los Angeles Queens in the inaugural season of the Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL).

It was quite a fun night of baseball! The Firebells defeated the Queens 10-3 in front of an enthusiastic Springfield crowd.

This league is making history in Springfield as the first major professional women’s baseball league in the United States since the All American Girls Professional Baseball League ended in 1954.
Come out, bring your friends, enjoy some baseball while supporting these incredible athletes, and help us cheer them on as they make history right here in Springfield!
