We are providing weather-appropriate clothing for students!

In January 2020, the Springfield Rotary Foundation launched a new Emergency Clothing Fund to provide weather-appropriate clothing for students at our adopted school (Ridgely Elementary School in Springfield, IL). Rotary Club member Tim Granzeau and Ridgely School Volunteer Lib Granzeau recommended the establishment of this fund after observing students coming to school in clothing that did not fit or was inappropriate for the weather conditions, especially during the winter. Inappropriate clothing endangers both the health and morale of students. Donations from club members and other interested parties provide the funding for projects supported from the Fund. We have already approved two projects to purchase winter clothing since the launch. Would you like to help us ensure that students have warm clothing during the winter? Please make a financial donation to the Springfield Rotary Foundation and earmark it for the Emergency Clothing Fund for Ridgely Elementary Students. Checks may be sent to Foundation Treasurer Bill Smith, Springfield Rotary Foundation, PO Box 615, Springfield, IL 62705.
