Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

Beth’s presentation will provide us with information about this little know adjunct to the Sangamon County court system.  A court appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer is a trained citizen who is appointed by a judge to represent the best interest of a child in court. Children helped by CASA volunteers include those who are victims of abuse and neglect and have been removed from their homes.  Across our country, there are nearly 1,000 CASA programs in 49 states.  The CASA Program in Sangamon County is funded through a combination of grants, fundraisers & donations.
